WHAT LEVEL OF SKILLS ARE NEEDED FOR A PERMIT TO BE ISSUED

To get a UK work permit your skills must be of a high level - for example, general administrative work will not qualify.

You should have qualifications at degree level, Higher National Diploma (HND), or appropriate postgraduate qualifications. If you need to be registered with the appropriate UK professional organisation (for example GMC, RCVS) then this is proof of high level skills.

If it is a management or senior executive position then you need to show at least 3 years senior experience.

It is also possible to have a permit issued for a job requiring high-level technical skills and substantial experience.
